Breastfeeding is the best way to feed a child
The first 1000 days of your baby’s life there will be lots of decisions and choices to make, to ensure they are getting the best start in life, both physically and emotionally. One of the best decisions you can make at this time is to choose to breastfeed your baby. Breastfeeding is how nature intended a newborn infant to be fed, and is therefore undisputedly the best way to feed an infant.
The WHO and UNICEF recommend that a newborn child is exclusively breastfed for the first six months after birth, with breastfeeding continuing along with appropriate complementary foods up to 2 years of age.
Breastfeeding is a great start for your baby – providing them with tailored nutrition, on demand, day or night and it’s free of charge! However, the benefits go beyond convenience and cost – the health benefits of breastfeeding apply to both Mum and baby and are far-reaching, lasting long after the breastfeeding journey has ended.
